Position Summary

The Back Server is an essential member of Grayson's service team. Working alongside Servers, Bartenders, and culinary staff, this role helps ensure every guest enjoys a smooth, polished, and memorable dining experience.
 
Responsibilities include delivering food, clearing and resetting tables, refilling beverages, maintaining dining room cleanliness, and anticipating guest needs while supporting the flow of service throughout each shift.
 
This position is ideal for someone looking to begin or advance a career in luxury hospitality and fine dining.


What You'll Do

Guest Experience
  • Support the service team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. 
  • Deliver food promptly and accurately while ensuring proper presentation. 
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items to answer basic guest questions. 
  • Anticipate guest needs and aid before being asked. 
  • Interact professionally and courteously with guests throughout service. 
Dining Room Operations
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables according to Grayson's standards. 
  • Refill water, bread, beverages, and other table necessities. 
  • Assist Servers with course pacing and table maintenance. 
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the dining room, service stations, and waiting areas. 
  • Polish silverware, glassware, and service equipment. 
  • Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties. 
Team Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with Servers, Bartenders, and the Culinary Team. 
  • Assist with large parties, private events, and special functions. 
  • Support efficient food delivery and service timing. 
  • Maintain awareness of guest preferences and special requests. 
  • Step in wherever needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations. 
Operational Excellence
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance. 
  • Handle all equipment safely and responsibly. 
  • Support Grayson's commitment to luxury hospitality and attention to detail. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time or part-time position requiring flexibility based on business needs.
Scheduling may include:
  • Lunch and dinner shifts

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour, based on experience.
Opportunities for advancement are available in Server, Lead Server, and Restaurant Floor Supervisor positions.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout each shift. 
  • Lift and carry trays, dishes, and supplies up to 40 pounds. 
  • Bend, reach, stoop, and climb stairs frequently. 
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment. 
  • Safely transport food and beverages throughout the dining room.
