Job Summary:
This is not a basic maintenance role.
You are responsible for keeping a 265-acre luxury estate operational, safe, and guest-ready — including historic homes, guest spaces, culinary facilities, and grounds.
 
This role requires a self-directed, multi-skilled technician who can:
  • Diagnose issues quickly 
  • Execute high-quality repairs 
  • Work independently without constant oversight 
  • Protect the integrity of historic structures
 What This Role Owns
  • Daily maintenance across all buildings + grounds
  • Guest-impacting repairs (speed + discretion required) 
  • Preventative maintenance execution 
  • Work order prioritization across departments 
  • Estate presentation standards (details matter)
Core Responsibilities 
Property Maintenance & Repairs
  • Execute repairs across: 
    • Historic homes, guest rooms, kitchens, common spaces, and grounds 
  • Handle: 
    • Plumbing (primary strength expected) 
    • Carpentry & general repairs 
    • Drywall, painting, sealing, and weatherproofing 
    • Appliance troubleshooting 
    • Basic electrical (as qualified) 
    • HVAC support (filters, cleaning, basic diagnostics)
Work Order Execution
  • Respond quickly and professionally to requests
  • Prioritize based on: 
    • Guest impact 
    • Safety 
    • Operational urgency
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
  • Walk into issues cold and diagnose independently 
  • Identify root cause (not just symptoms) 
  • Execute durable, clean fixes
Cross-Team Coordination
  • Work closely with: 
    • Housekeeping 
    • Guest Services 
    • Culinary 
    • Events 
  • Communicate clearly and proactively
Estate Operations Support
  • Participate in on-call rotation 
  • Maintain tools, workshops, and storage areas 
  • Track supplies and flag inventory needs 
  • Support overall property presentation (interior + exterior)

Qualifications
Required
  •  3+ years hands-on maintenance experience (estate, hospitality, residential, or similar) 
  •  Strong plumbing skills 
  •  General repair competency across multiple trades 
  •  Valid driver’s license 
  •  Ability to work independently across a large property 
  •  Clear communication skills
Preferred
  •  Carpentry experience 
  •  Experience working with historic properties 
  •  Trade certifications (plumbing, electrical, HVAC)
Work Environment
  •  Indoor + outdoor across all seasons 
  •  Active hospitality setting (guest-facing professionalism required) 
  •  Large property requiring movement between buildings
Physical Requirements
  •  Lift up to 50 lbs 
  •  Climb ladders, stairs, and work in tight spaces 
  •  Stand/walk for extended periods
Schedule & Coverage
  •  Full-time role 
  •  Includes on-call rotation for after-hours/emergencies
